Bold, Colorful, Candid Dallas Wedding Photographer
One of the best things about being in the Dallas Wedding Industry for as long as we have has been the genuine friendships that have grown from networking events, meeting fellow creatives and thriving through the ups and downs of an ever changing market with entrepreneurs we truly look up to. Will and I have been dying to wrap the year up with a little Creative Couples Session at Dallas Fair Park without the pressure of an actual engaged couples portrait hanging on the lines and for this shoot, we knew just who to call.
Introducing our precious friends, Melissa & Nick. As a fellow DFW event photographer, I knew Melissa would understand our itch for something a little more creative, dramatic and out of the box. Her glowing joy, spunky personality and love for all things quirky are reasons I’ve always admired her and knew she’d be the perfect model. When I reached out to see if she and her amazing musician husband, Nick, would be up to the idea, she didn’t bat an eye! We met up at Hall of State in Dallas Fair Park to kick of this creative, wild and totally out of the box session before ending the evening at Reverchon Park in Downtown Dallas.
The thing about being a creative, even on a wedding day, is that failure is a KEY PART of success. We shoot, we reframe, adjust our lights and go again. With that said, we anticipated a LOT of failure with this session. To our overwhelming delight, not only did the session not totally flop but it was a wildly magical success that filled our cup beyond words.
As photographers, it’s so easy to get lost in what everyone else is in the area is doing or what we “need” to photograph that sometimes those concepts that catapult us forward to the next level get lost in the chaos. We are forever grateful for Melissa and Nick- for their friendship, their trust with the vision and their enthusiasm to jump right in. We can’t wait to bring this magic to your next session too!
