Peaky Blinders Prohibition Engagement

Bold, Colorful, Candid Dallas Wedding Photographer

When Carly & Cole reached out to us, they had a vision: a Peaky Blinders themed Prohibition inspired engagement session that oozed vintage charm and Prohibition-era flair. As soon as they described their idea, we were all in. From the old-school sophistication of a local speakeasy to the timeless architecture of Fort Worth, every detail of their session was meticulously planned to reflect their unique love story.

Starting with Prohibition Vibes at Thompson’s Bookstore

We kicked things off at one of Fort Worth’s hidden gems, Thompson’s Bookstore. This speakeasy-style bar set the perfect stage with its moody lighting, plush velvet seating, and vintage-inspired decor. Carly stunned in a sleek dress that nodded to 1920’s glamour, while Cole rocked a tailored three-piece suit (a must for any true Peaky Blinders fan!).

We captured intimate moments of the two sipping cocktails, exchanging laughter, and fully embodying the Prohibition-era vibe.

Roaring 20’s Meets Travel at T&P Train Station

Next, we headed to the historic T&P Train Station. Its grand Art Deco design and vintage trains made it the ideal location for travel-inspired photos. Carly & Cole brought their A-game, posing as if they were heading off on a glamorous getaway. The station’s high ceilings, intricate details, and iconic clock tower gave us endless creative opportunities. And can we please talk about Carly’s hat, pearls and fur shawl?!

A Modern Twist at Fort Worth’s Historic Post Office

To blend the past with the present, we wrapped up the shoot at the Fort Worth Historic Post Office and its adjacent loading docks. The juxtaposition of elegant, old-world architecture with a more modern aesthetic added a unique layer to the session. Carly & Cole slipped into more casual and contemporary outfits- layering scarves, coats and boots perfectly accessorizing the modern look. These shots felt effortlessly cool and totally timeless.

Ending the Night at Joe T. Garcia’s

What’s better than tacos and margaritas after an epic engagement session? Nothing. After wrapping up, we joined Carly & Cole at the iconic Joe T. Garcia’s in Downtown Fort Worth. Sharing stories and laughter over some of the best Mexican food in Texas was the perfect way to end the day. It was a reminder of why we do what we do: connecting with incredible couples and creating memories that go beyond the camera.

Looking Ahead to Their Hotel Crescent Court Wedding

We’re counting down the days until Carly & Cole’s wedding this May at the luxurious Hotel Crescent Court in Dallas. It’s always a treat to work alongside Plan It With Me, one of our all time favorite Texas wedding planners. If their engagement session is any indication, their wedding is going to be one for the books!

Why We Love Themed Engagement Sessions

Themed engagement sessions like this are such a fun way to celebrate your story as a couple. They allow you to incorporate personal touches and create a vibe that feels authentically you. Whether it’s vintage, bohemian, or modern chic, we’re here to bring your vision to life.

Tips for Planning a Peaky Blinders Prohibition Themed Engagement Session

  1. Start with a Clear Vision: Talk with your partner about the theme you want to explore and how it reflects your story as a couple.
  2. Check Out Costume and Vintage Shops: For true-to-era clothing, visit local vintage shops or rent costumes that align with your chosen theme.
  3. Think Outside the Box with Locations: Don’t be afraid to get creative. Historical landmarks, unique architecture, and even personal spaces that hold meaning can elevate your photos.
  4. Incorporate Props: Add era-specific props like vintage luggage, old books, or antique accessories to enhance the theme.
  5. Coordinate Outfits: Work together to ensure your outfits complement each other and align with the theme without being overly matchy.
  6. Trust Your Team: Rely on your photographer and planner to bring your vision to life. They’re experts at finding the right lighting, angles, and moments.
  7. Be Flexible: Sometimes the best shots come from unexpected moments, so embrace spontaneity.
  8. Focus on Authenticity: Choose a theme that feels natural and fun for you as a couple. If you’re having a blast, it will show in your photos.
  9. Incorporate Personal Touches: Bring elements that are meaningful to your relationship, like a favorite drink or book.
  10. Plan Ahead: Schedule your session with enough time to gather outfits, scout locations, and communicate your vision with your photographer.
