A timeless, celebration of love in the heart of DFW
LGBTQ+ Wedding by Dallas-Fort Worth Inclusive Wedding Photographers
From the moment we arrived at The Filter Building at White Rock Lake, there was an unmistakable feeling in the air that this day was all about joy. The kind of joy that shows up in deep belly laughs by the pool, handwritten letters exchanged before the ceremony, hugs that last a little longer than expected, and a dance floor that never seemed to empty.
They wanted a wedding that felt like one giant, joyful, gay party. That’s exactly what was delivered.
A Dallas Wedding With Views That Never Get Old
The Filter Building has become one of our favorite Dallas wedding venues for couples who want the city without feeling like they’re downtown.
Sitting right along White Rock Lake, the venue offers exposed brick, enormous windows, and sweeping lake views that change throughout the day. Lauren and Alissa specifically chose it because they fell in love with the combination of industrial architecture and peaceful scenery, and they hoped for portraits that showcased both the brick interior and the water beyond the windows.
As documentary wedding photographers, those kinds of spaces are a dream. Beautiful light, meaningful architecture, and room for people to simply exist together.
A Wedding That Felt Entirely Like Them
One of our favorite parts of working with Lauren and Alissa was how much trust they placed in us.
They wanted romantic portraits, playful moments and genuine laughter. Most importantly, they wanted photographs that felt like an honest representation of who they are together. That trust allowed us to spend less time worrying about poses and more time creating space for real moments to unfold.
Little Details That Told Their Story
Some of our favorite moments weren’t on the timeline. They were tucked into the little details that meant something only to Lauren and Alissa.
Lauren started the day with a pool party with her besties. Because “grooms always get to do fun stuff on their wedding day while brides have to sit in a chair all day! want to do fun stuff too!” Alissa wore her grandmother’s earrings and carried orchids in her bouquet in her honor. Lawn games welcomed guests during cocktail hour. Later in the evening, a Rita’s Italian Ice cart—a nostalgic Philadelphia favorite—rolled onto the patio and instantly became everyone’s favorite late-night surprise.
Those are the kinds of details that guests remember years later.
Why We Love Photographing LGBTQ+ Weddings
People occasionally ask if photographing a queer wedding feels different.
The answer is both yes and no.
No, because every wedding deserves the same care, excitement, and attention.
Yes, because every couple deserves to know they can fully be themselves without wondering if their photographer will make assumptions, use the wrong language, or unintentionally make them feel like they don’t belong.
Your wedding should never feel like a performance. It should feel like home.
Whether we’re photographing two brides, two grooms, or any couple writing their own story, our goal is always the same: create photographs that feel honest, emotionally rich, and unmistakably you.
Lauren and Alissa’s wedding was exactly that.
Joyful. Heartfelt. Completely authentic.
And one heck of a party.
