Crown the DJ Battle by DFW Event Photographers
If you were anywhere near Plano on August 10th, 2025, you probably felt it — the bass, the energy, the crowd feeding off every scratch and drop. Crown The DJ battle turned Fowling Warehouse into the ultimate DFW DJ battleground for DJs who live for the craft, not the clout. No pre-edited tracks. No second chances. Just raw skill, quick hands, and the kind of vibe control you can’t fake.
We were there, camera in hand, to capture every needle drop, head nod, and crowd eruption. And trust us — this wasn’t just an event. It was a statement.
The Concept: Where Skill Speaks Louder Than Popularity
Presented by Mobile DJ Services with DJ Mike Production, Crown The DJ battle was built for the crate diggers, the scratch lords, the vibe architects. This wasn’t a showcase — it was a showdown.
Two categories. One mission: separate the real from the rest.
Freestyle Division brought creativity on overdrive — mashups, live remixes, unexpected flips, and turntable trickery that had the crowd on edge.
Competitors in the Freestyle Battle:
- DJ Madd [WINNER OF THE FREESTYLE BATTLE]
- DJ Zazu
- DJ Baby Moi (the most adorable 6 year old who won the hearts of everyone in the room)
- DJ Petey Wonder
- DJ Nate Nelson
Mixing Division was all about musical storytelling — those seamless transitions, BPM-perfect blends, and the power to keep a room moving without missing a beat.
Competitors in the Mixing Battle:
- DJ Mike Kiss [WINNER OF THE MIXING BATTLE]
- DJ King Ace
- DJ Tru
- DJ Kyle Sertner
- DJ Arturo
- DJ Flying Ace
Inside the Battle: How It All Went Down
From the moment doors opened at 2:00 PM, the energy was already building. Food and drinks flowed, sponsor booths drew the curious, and Jaime Chavez kicked things off with an hour-long set that set the tone.
By 3:00 PM, host Hannah Burns and co-host Rick Bennett had the crowd amped for the first heats of the Mixing Category. Every competitor had five minutes to prove themselves, with no room for hesitation. The decks did the talking — and sometimes, they screamed.
The Freestyle battles lit up the evening, with DJs putting on performances that blurred the line between music and art.
Between rounds, fans met hip-hop legend Chubb Rock, grabbed sponsor swag, and fueled up before the final winners were crowned.
And the Winners Are…
When the dust settled, the Mixing and Freestyle champions took the stage to the sound of DJ Khaled’s “All I Do Is Win”. Cash prizes, bragging rights, and the coveted Crown The DJ battle title went home with performers who didn’t just play — they owned the room.
